Behind the Art
Rosi Feist was born in 1981 in Dresden, Saxony, in the former German Democratic Republic, and grew up near the borders of Western Germany and the Czech Republic. She currently resides in Berlin with her wife, daughter, and dog in a small wooden house.
Rosi studied Media Art & Design at the Bauhaus University Weimar, where she developed most of her projects under the guidance of artist Prof. Christine Hill. Rosi draws inspiration from her wife's photographs of abandoned motels, desert cacti, and service stations from trips to the USA. His work simplifies everyday objects into minimalist pop art, using pastel colors and layered compositions to reflect a nostalgic banality of daily life.
